Gangs of Wasseypur
The way this movie has justified its sprawling characters is unmatched. Sardar Khan, Faisal, Ramadhir Singh, Perpendicular inspire memes to date. All the characters have their own space, motivation and agenda in the movie and don’t look forced even for a second. If you want to watch the craft of acting and don’t mind a little violence, you must watch this movie.
Maqbool
Before the movie, can I talk about a thirty second dance that Pankaj Kapoor did? His portrayal of how a sixty year old man would dance with his new young girlfriend is pure bliss. I promise this movie will stay with you a few days. Pankaj Kapoor, Irrfan Khan and Tabu deliver phenomenal performances which are worth your every minute.
Haider
A movie that keeps you guessing integrity of each and every character till the very end. With Shahid and Tabu portraying a very complicated relationship mother-son relationship, this movie will keep you hooked. Irrfan Khan, Kay Kay Menon and Kulbhushan Kharbanda’s acting only make every frame of this movie worth watching.
Cheeni Kum
An acting duo that remains unmatched to date. Do you expect anything less than exceptional when Amitabh and Tabu come together on screen? The concept and story of the movie itself beautiful and has aged wonderfully.
Sanju
I have reservations about the story and message of the movie but that takes nothing away from spectacular acting by Ranbir Kapoor. Acting in biopic of someone who is still active and very much fresh in audiences memory is a huge challenge and Ranbir Kapoor proved his merit. I honestly forgot that it was Ranbir Kapoor who playing Sanjay Dutt and not Sanjay Dutt himself. Supported by Paresh Rawal, Vicky Kaushal, Sonam Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and others, this movie is a must watch just for acting.
Andhadhun
If you haven’t seen this movies till now, just stop everything and go watch it now. I insist! It has the most malevolent character doing the most gut wrenching things with no empathy and yet makes you laugh. Something that is impossible without exceptional acting by Tabu and Aayushmann.
Gangubai Kathiawadi
Before I actually saw the movie, I could never imagine Alia Bhat who has soft persona playing Gangubai who is known to be complete badass. Not only was she complete badass, she towered over everyone in her tiny frame with her acting. I had always liked Alia, but after this movie I became a fan.
